The 4-step migration

From token to a working workspace, no rebuilding.

  1. Sign up.Google or email/password. Takes about 20 seconds. Your 7-day free trial starts right away. No credit card required, cancel anytime.
  2. Generate a Smartsheet API token.In Smartsheet: Personal Settings → API Access → Generate. Read-only is fine. Paste it into the Wisegrid import screen.
  3. Pick what to import.We show your full Smartsheet landscape as a checkbox tree: workspaces, folders, sheets, attachments, forms and reports. Tick what you want, leave the rest. Dashboards and Automations already exist in Wisegrid; they're shown disabled with "Notify me" because the importer can't auto-translate those from Smartsheet yet. Your vote pushes that order.
  4. Watch it happen.Multi-pass import handles cross-sheet references (which can form cycles in Smartsheet). Formulas get translated to Wisegrid syntax. Anything that can't translate cleanly lands in a "manual review" queue with the original syntax + our best guess.

What the importer doesn't pull over yet.

One important distinction: most of these features already exist in Wisegrid. The importer just doesn't rebuild them from your Smartsheet account automatically yet. So you'd set them up fresh here (often in minutes). We show them in the import tree as grayed-out items with a "Notify me" toggle for when auto-migration lands.

Frequently asked
Does Wisegrid keep its hands off my Smartsheet account?
Yes. The API token is read-only. We pull data out of Smartsheet but never write back. Revoke the token at any time in Smartsheet Personal Settings.
What happens if a formula can't translate cleanly?
It lands in your "manual review" queue with the original Smartsheet syntax visible + our best-guess translation. You can edit and accept, or paste your own. Nothing gets silently dropped.
How long does a full migration take?
It runs as a background job, so you can keep working in Wisegrid while it imports. Smaller workspaces finish quickly. Larger ones with lots of attachments take longer, because we download every file from Smartsheet and re-upload it to our own storage. Live progress shows sheets, rows and formulas as they come over.
Can I import again later if I keep working in Smartsheet?
Re-running an interrupted migration resumes safely. It tracks each item by its Smartsheet ID, so sheets, rows and attachments that already came over are not duplicated, and it binds by ID rather than row position. But pulling in sheets and rows you add in Smartsheet after a finished import, and two-way sync, are v2 work. For now a completed import is a point-in-time copy.
What does it cost to migrate?
The importer is included in your plan at no extra charge. New accounts start on a 7-day free trial (no credit card required, cancel anytime), and there is one plan: $19 per editor per month with every feature included. View-only collaborators are free. Will my whole workspace fit?
Almost certainly. The plan holds up to 1,000,000 cells and 40,000 rows per sheet, 600 columns per sheet, unlimited sheets, and 100 GB of attachment storage. If a single sheet somehow exceeds those ceilings the import doesn't fail and it doesn't lie: each sheet keeps the rows that fit under the cap, the rest are skipped and counted in your completion report, and attachments that would overflow your storage are skipped before upload and listed. You get the full plan capacity during the 7-day free trial, so import your real workspace and check fidelity with your own data (formulas, hierarchy, attachments).
What if Wisegrid doesn't work out and I want to leave?
CSV export every sheet whenever you want. Smartsheet still has your original data (we never wrote to it). Worst case: 30 minutes of "I tried it" lost.
