A three-way theme control (System / Light / Dark) in Settings → Appearance and as a quick toggle in your account menu. Pick one and the whole app switches instantly, no reload.
On first visit it follows your operating-system setting, and in System mode it live-updates if you flip your OS between light and dark. Your choice is remembered per device and applied before the page paints, so there's no white flash on load.
Dark uses a near-black base (not pure black) with elevated surfaces (modals, drawers, popovers) a step lighter so depth still reads. It covers the app shell, the grid, drawers, modals, toolbars and menus. The marketing site, public share pages and public forms stay light for now; printing and PDF export also render light regardless of theme.

Tracked. System-preference default with a light/dark override is the sensible shape, on a near-black base rather than pure black.
It's live. Settings → Appearance, or the toggle in your account menu: System / Light / Dark, applied instantly and remembered. System follows your OS and live-updates when you change it. App-only for now: the marketing site, public share pages and forms stay light, and print/PDF always render light.
